About Kurt Preszler
Kurt Preszler’s story is a South Dakota story — one of hard work, family, community, and leadership. Raised on a farm near Roscoe, South Dakota, Kurt learned the importance of perseverance, craftsmanship, and helping your neighbor at a young age. His early years working alongside family members on farming and construction projects built the foundation for the values he holds today.
After graduating from Edmunds Central High School in 1996, Kurt pursued a degree in business management at North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS). His education combined with his hands-on upbringing gave him both the knowledge and the work ethic needed to succeed.
Kurt spent six years working for Sioux Falls Tower, where he specialized in building and maintaining telecommunications structures across the region. His work took him to great heights—literally—and strengthened his technical skills, resilience, and ability to lead teams safely and efficiently.
Following his work in telecommunications, Kurt transitioned to home construction in Sioux Falls, where he continued to build both homes and relationships within the community. In 2008, Kurt and his wife, Nayda, moved to Aberdeen to pursue a new dream: building a business of their own.
That dream became a reality with the founding of Mega Construction. The name MEGA is especially meaningful—derived from the names of his children: Max, Elizabeth, Grayson, and Ayden (AJ). Family has always been Kurt’s driving force, and his business is a reflection of those values: craftsmanship, integrity, and teamwork.
Today, Kurt and Nayda are raising their three children in Aberdeen, where they are active members of the community. Kurt’s leadership extends beyond business. He currently serves as:
President of the Aberdeen Home Builders Association
President of the South Dakota Home Builders Association (after previously serving as Secretary and Vice President)
Vice President of the Aberdeen Running Club
Proud 25-year member of the American Legion
Now, Kurt is ready to take his skills, experience, and passion for community to the Aberdeen City Council, where he will work tirelessly to represent the voices and needs of Aberdeen’s residents.
